E.V.P. Reviving Extinct Species:
Should extinct species be revived?
Introduction:
The two sides of the debate for reviving extinct species both bring up good arguments. The side in favor of de-extinction argues that it is a matter of justice; it would reestablish lost value; create new value; the species that are brought back would help the earth; and society needs it as a conservation last resort. The side against de-extinction argues that it is unnatural; that it could cause animal suffering; that it could be ecologically problematic or detrimental to human health; and that it is hubristic. Bringing back extinct species may have a positive effect but do the benefits out way the risks?

Background Information:
“Cloning has been used with vulnerable and endangered animals and in attempts to revive extinct species that have recently gone extinct. Due to advancements in genetics and synthetic biology, there now appears to be a plausible pathway for reviving species that have been extinct for several decades, centuries, or even millennium. This would be accomplished by reconstructing close approximations of the extinct species’ genomes based on information found in preserved DNA" (Sandler).

Thesis:
Although there are risks in reviving extinct species, extinct species should be revive because the benefits out way the risks.
